Where's your spandex?

BPD dodgeball team
The excited 8th graders that dominated the BPD.
Ryan trying to knock a poor lil' 8th grader out.
Bring it SJH staff.
Bring it on BPD.
The ref who was a lil' too serious about the tourney.

Every year, South Junior High has a dodgeball tournament to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation. The 7th graders compete against the 8th graders. Obvioulsy the 8th graders won. Then the staff played against the police officers. The staff was all decked out in short shorts and wigs. The police dominated the staff members. Then it was best out of 3 for the championship. It was the 8th graders against the police officers. The cops won the 1st game, the 2nd was a tie, so the ref gave that game to the 8th graders, and then the cops lost the last game. The 8th graders won. They were so excited. Ryan thought they his team got robbed. It was so funny to see a bunch of adults dressed up rediculously ugly and try to kill little kids.

Put Your Hands Up

Ryan and I didn't want candy in our house, so we didn't want to take Jaxon trick or treating, but during dinner, we both wanted to dress him up for some reason. We had nowhere to go and no one to really see, so we found a few things around the house (only an officer would have) and made Jaxon be the cutest police officer ever for Halloween. We rang Ryan's parent's doorbell and ran and left Jaxon on the doorstep to get us some free goodies. We dressed him all in navy blue and put Boise Police stickers on his shirt and hat. Then Ryan had an old play gun and holster, fake cuffs, magazine holder, and his badge. We put it all on Ryan's broken belt that I fit on Jaxon. It was great. The cheapest and cutest costume.

It was soooooooooooo worth every penny

This is our first time ever taking professional pictures. We had Ryan's uncle take our wedding pictures and his sister usually takes our family pictures. Which they were all great, but we finally decided to splurge and have a pro take them for us. I am so glad we did. They turned out fabulous.

Happy 1st Birthday Jaxon

Look at my cool new winter boots.
Playing with his new toys with Bishy.
He was a little afraid of the fire that Ryan was shoving in his face.
Okay, you talked me into it.
Loving this cupcake.
Making sure he got every bit of it.
Oh my gosh, I get icecream too?

I CANNOT believe that I have a 1 year old. I tried to make this day really special for Jaxon. I guess Brenda is rubbing off on me. Ryan and I bought him a new carseat...front facing. He is loving it. Ryan is going to kill us all, because he hates that Jaxon just stares at him the entire time. They can't stop looking at each other. It is very dangerous. I heard Jaxon wake up around 7:30am and went down to sing to him. When I got close to his room, I could smell something awful. I went in his room and there was throw up literally everywhere...in his hair, pj's, in between his toes, all over his bedding, everywhere. I stripped him down and threw him in the bath. We gave him breakfast and then got ready for his big birthday party. I invited a few of his friends to the park for a pizza party and cupcakes. I gave him one bite of pizza and he threw up his entire breakfast. So I called Ryan to come get him. We had his party without him. I love my Dad. He always takes the grandkids to lunch on their birthday. I told him that Jaxon wasn't feeling well, so he asked if he could take him for a walk. They ended up just playing in our living room for about 30 minutes. My Dad smothers Jaxon's face. I don't think Jax likes it, but don't tell my Dad that. Ryan's parents came over. He opened his presents. He got 2 new pairs of shoes, a winter outfit, blocks, books, and a learning audio computer book. He loves them all. Thank you Grandma Thueson. Then the best part, he demolished a cupcake and icecream. Let's just hope he doesn't throw up the entire dessert tonight. I can't tell you how much I absolutely love this kid. It is crazy to me that he is already one year old. Happy Birthday Jaxon!

Perk's of being a cop

Having your husband be a police officer is not all fun and games. There are a lot of nights I worry about him while he is out. I worry even more after I hear some of the events that happened throughout the night. There are a few things that help make this career more enjoyable for the family though. The city has put on many family events. It is great to go out and meet other wives and families that go through the same thing we are, and it is FREE. So in the last few months we have been able to go to Steelhead's Hockey game, a picnic at the zoo, and go to the Farmstead. Thank you City of Boise.

I promise they aren't gay...they just don't know better

I was so excited to have my friend Shanah Tafoya come into town. It has been forever since I have seen her. She has a little boy named Lakai that is about 6 weeks older than Jaxon. This was the first time they have met. They instantly fell in love with each other. I wish they lived closer so our boys could play together more often. It was so cute to see these two boys playing, hugging, slealing each others binkies, poking eyes and kissing. It was so adorable. They would just open their mouths and with wide eyes, kiss each other over and over again. I especially love how Lakai would tilt his head when he would kiss. It's like he has seen it done like that before or something. It is like they are best friends. Thanks for stopping by, Shanah. It was great to see you.

Bahamas

Ryan and I just got back from the most amazing trip. We went to Miami for a few days and went to a Braves vs. Marlins game and went to the beach. Then we left on a cruise to the Bahamas. It was perfect weather. The food was amazing. We spent one day at Grand Turk Island where we rented the most ghetto scooter and rode around the entire island in 2 hours. It was the poorest island, with animals roaming the streets and people with no shoes. Ryan was so burnt just from the first day on the cruise, that he laid out with a towel over his entire body and his shirt over his head. It was hilarious. Then spent the rest of the day on the beach. The ocean was warm and so clear. I decided I love the Atlantic Ocean way more than the Pacific. The next day was spent at Carnival's private island, Half Moon Cay. It is only 2% developed. We did a bike n' hike through the lush green undeveloped hills. It was gorgeous. That beach was the best beach ever. The water was so clear and the sand was white and so soft. It was amazing. The next day was spent at Nassau, which is a large island with many shops and restaurants. We went snorkeling and had a tour of a lot of celebrity's vacation homes. We saw Micheal Jordan, Olsen twins, Barry Bonds, Tiger Woods, (Oprah has 2 homes, one for her and one for her guests.) Then we went shopping through the street market, where I felt like Jasmin on Aladdin. Everyone was saying, "Hey pretty lady, this necklace would look great on you. Hey pretty girl, you want to look at this bag." This trip was very relaxing and great to spend time with my hubby, but I couldn't stop thinking about Jaxon the ENTIRE time. I love the Bahamas.

I Am A TRY-athlete

My sisters, Lyric and Hilary and I did the Y Not Tri-athlon. It was my first triathlon. I was so nervous and couldn't stop thinking about it the entire night before that I couldn't fall asleep until 4am. An hour before the race, I was even more nervous that I used the bathroom 4 times in that one hour. Once I was there waiting my turn, I kept thinking to myself that I was an idiot for even thinking of doing this. It was smaller than a sprint triathlon. It was 1/4 mile swim, 6 mile bike and a 2 mile run. I haven't discovered any diseases from swimming in the nasty Parkcenter pond. Then we biked along Parkcenter and then ran on the Greenbelt. It was easier than I thought it was going to be. I wanted to do it in 1 hour and 20 minutes. I actually did it in 1 hour and 3 minutes. I was impressed. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. My sister Lyric did it in 55 minutes and Hilary did it in 1 hour and 4 minutes. There were so many people that signed up to do it, that they had to put the beginner women into 3 different sections. I was in the 1st group and my sisters were both in the 2nd. Thank goodness I was ahead of them, because it made me feel a lot faster (even though I really wasn't). My family were very supportive cheering us along the entire way. At the finish line, Jaxon was holding up this great sign that said, "My Mom is RED hot". Literally my face was bright red and I was very sweaty, so that sign was perfect. I will definitely do another race. I loved it.
P.S. Lyric is totally showing off her ripped bod in this picture. I know...I hate her too.

Old Men's Dream Falls Short

Ryan is in a Meridian City Softball League with a few of his brothers-in-law, Steve and Dillon and now Justin. Last season they got 2nd place. They lost to the cockiest team in the whole league. It was a long day. Our family came out in the 100 degree weather to cheer on their boys. They had 3 games right after one another. They had a great season that ended in 2nd place. They should be so proud. They had a one week break before the next season starts. Yippie.

Summer with the Blaser's

Our best friends drove from AZ and spent an entire week with us. I think it was more fun for us than them. They slept in my in-law's giant Twinkie. It was hot, uncomfortable and loud, but they never complained. We went swimming, talked, ate and hung out. Jaxon loved chasing Rylee all over the house. Young love. We loved having them stay with us.

Big Boy PJ's

My lil' boy is not a lil' baby anymore. We just got him some new pajamas that are 2 pieces. He loves them. He thinks he looks so old in them. Which I agree. He is getting so big. He has one pair that says "POW!" on them. Ryan asked me yesterday, "Cali, did you buy him foreign pj's?" I had no idea what he was talking about. He said, "Why does it say 'imod'?" I don't remember the last time I laughed that hard. It said "POW!" upside down.

It wasn't me

Some people probably look at Jaxon and think that his parents are abusive. Now that he is mobile, he falls a lot. He was playing on the spare bed downstairs with me (which is next to the window) and stood up, holding on to the window seal. He fell and cut his eye on the edge of the seal. He was bauling for a couple minutes. I can't wait til he can stand by himself, so he stops falling so much. I'm afraid Jax will be taken away from me if this keeps happening.
