Steve realized he had to coach Max's first football game and asked if I would like to take his place at the Dirty Dash. I was so excited. I literally couldn't sleep the night before. I had my extra clothes and towel and everything ready the night before like it was my first day of elementary school. Lyric had quite a few of her friends doing it with her. We drove up to Bogus Basin and found tons of people dressed up. Girls with tutu's, chefs with whitey-tighties and aprons, wedding dresses, etc. We started the race by having to jump over 5 gigantic hay bales. Then it was up and down hills with little obstacles, like walking a straight line on poles, running through tires and crawling through tubes. Then after a major hill, there was our first muddy obstacle. We had to run up a little hill, which took me several times to get up, slide down and then crawl through tubes full of mud. Then climb over fences that were several feet high landing in mud on the other side. At the very top of the hill, beer was served. We took a few sips of Root Beer (which wasn't smart, because I was burping the entire rest of the race). It was downhill from there. A few little obstacles led us to the bunny hill where we had to run up and then slide down a huge boucey slip n' slide landing in mud. The last 20 yards of the race was a swimming pool of mud. Lyric was literally swimming- doing the back stroke. There were photo shots at the finish line. We were covered in mud. It was challenging and tiring, but the funnest race I will ever do. Thank you Steve.
